About EON :
EON Technology Company is a Saudi company based in Riyadh, established under the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with commercial registration number (7051396492). The company provides a range of distinguished technical solutions and consulting services to its clients in Saudi Arabia, the GCC countries and all over the world through a team of specialists and consultants with experience and competence in all technical fields.
Core Requirements :
- Laravel (7+ years): Not just CRUD — we expect deep knowledge of framework internals, service container, queue system, event broadcasting, testing, and extending the core.
- Microservices Architecture (Mandatory): You must be comfortable designing and leading decoupled systems with clear API boundaries, service registries, gateway orchestration, and resilience patterns.
- PHP (Advanced Level): Clean, object-oriented PHP with SOLID principles and an obsession for maintainable code.
- Software Architecture: You’ve owned architecture decisions for platforms under real traffic. You understand when to decouple, when to scale vertically, and when to split services.
- Systems Design: From monolith refactoring to distributed systems, you’ve done it before — and know where bottlenecks live.
- REST API Design: You design APIs that are scalable, well-documented, and versionable — with auth, throttling, and backwards-compatibility in mind.
- Frontend Leadership (Vue.js / React.js): You don’t need to write frontend code — but you’ve led or overseen serious Vue.js or React.js projects and understand component design and frontend architecture.
- Containerization: Deep experience in Docker-based environments — from dev setups to production-ready containers.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Experience setting up and maintaining automated pipelines with zero-downtime deploys.
- Git & GitHub: You define branching strategies, enforce code quality via pull requests, and lead by example.
- DevOps Orientation: Not a DevOps engineer, but you understand enough to make infrastructure decisions, work with cloud providers, and support operational excellence.
- Kubernetes: Practical experience with orchestrating services at scale in a K8s environment is a plus.
- Cloud (GCP / OCI / AWS): You’ve deployed, monitored, and optimized production applications in the cloud.
- Event-Driven Architecture: You've implemented and debugged systems where services communicate asynchronously — using tools like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Resilience and Fault Tolerance: You know how to design systems that don’t go down when one piece fails — circuit breakers, retries, failover patterns, and graceful degradation are part of your DNA.
- API Gateway / Service Discovery: You know how to manage external/internal access, traffic shaping, routing, and observability.
About the Role :
We’re not looking for just another “senior developer.”
We’re hiring a Technical Lead who can architect resilient platforms, lead complex system design, and make engineering decisions that stand the test of scale and time.
You will not be expected to write code daily — but you must understand code at scale, challenge design decisions, and lead teams across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and architecture.
This role is for those who have led, scaled, and shipped real systems — not those who want to try.
What You’ll Actually Do :
- Own the technical direction of the platform.
- Design and guide the transition to microservices (from Laravel monoliths if applicable).
- Lead a team of backend/frontend engineers — you set the bar for reviews, architecture, and coding quality.
- Collaborate closely with founders, product managers, QA, and DevOps.
- Take a proactive role in identifying system weaknesses and drive real-world solutions — before they turn into bottlenecks.
- Educate, mentor, and challenge your team technically.
- Translate business goals into scalable architecture — not just features.
This Role Is Not for You If :
- You're a mid-level dev looking for your first step into leadership.
- You only feel comfortable inside Laravel without understanding what happens under the hood.
- You’ve never deployed or debugged a system under real load.
- You’re not fluent in architecture discussions and cloud infrastructure.
- You require remote flexibility — this is an on-site leadership position in Sheikh Zayed, Egypt.
